Peterborough Writes!

Hello!

Welcome to Peterborough Writes!, a writers resource for the Peterborough, ON area. This site was started because I could not find a similar one through a search engine, and necessity being the mother of invention, I took it upon myself to build a site with both forum and blog functionality. The main hope of this site is to provide a place, free of any affiliations to any existing writers group, where people of all skill levels and professional standings can meet, collaborate, and assist each other in creating their art.

Writing can be the most solitary collaborative effort in the art world, what you create is innately personal and may never see the light of day, however it is art. As such, a community of fellow authors (however nameless and faceless you chose to be) can bring about the much needed sense of connection, or just that push you need to finish your work. With that in mind, I felt that the best venue for a writing group would be an internet based forum.

As with most art related resources, I am hoping to allow this site to grow organically, starting with the "seed" or core foundation of assistance, and hopefully growing to include member moderated sections, blogs, and other resources I can not even fathom yet. As it is, the site is still in seedling phase, but with a little help, and a lot of determination, I would love nothing more than to see it grow into a large tree of information, activities and works that welcomes all authors to call it's branches home.
